*Job Summary*
Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Flatbed Conestoga Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across Illinois and Missouri. In this role, you will operate flatbed trucks equipped with Conestoga covers, ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Your expertise in handling Primarily Flat Steel freight, will be essential in providing exceptional service to our customers.The position Primarily Consists of Loads Between Granite City and Quincy IL. Monday through Friday With two turns per day.

*Responsibilities*

* Safely operate a CDL A tractor-trailer with flatbed and Conestoga cover to transport freight across regional or national routes.
* Load, secure, and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, or forklifts when necessary.
* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and securing devices.
* Manage load documentation accurately, including delivery manifests, bills of lading, and route sheets.
* Load and unload freight at customer sites or distribution centers, ensuring proper handling of specialized cargo such as refrigerated or tanker loads when applicable.
* Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies throughout each trip.
* Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered on the road.
* Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical concerns promptly to keep trucks in optimal condition.
* Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety guidelines to meet delivery deadlines.

*Requirements*

* Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience operating tractor-trailers, especially flatbed trucks with Conestoga covers.
* Experience with refrigerated trailers, or other specialized freight is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of load securing techniques for flatbeds and roll-off trucks.
* Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo when needed.
* Prior experience in freight delivery, route driving, or commercial trucking is highly desirable.
* Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks.
* Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
