*PRIMARY FUNCTION*

Mobility/Wheelchair Van Drivers provide transportation and physical assistance to individuals and/or patient escorts who require specialty transport in specialized vehicles.

*PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Provide transportation and assistance to patients and clients with mobility limitations, including those confined to a wheelchair, using one of several different types of vehicles: sedan, mobility van and/or paratransit bus.
* Transport passengers in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area.
* Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters.
* Conduct proper vehicle check for assigned equipment and vehicle maintenance request (VMR).

* Demonstrate superior customer service skills to patients, family members, medical providers, facility staff, and the general public while representing Hart to Heart Transportation.
* Complete and submit required trip logs on company issued tablets.
* Function and provide care while adapting to varying daily routes and real-time changes to assigned pick-up and drop-off times and locations.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
* Comply with all safety guidelines and promptly report unsafe situations to the Operation Supervisor and/or Customer Service Center.
* Notify Customer Service Center immediately of any deviations to a scheduled drop off/pick up, passenger incidents, patient medical/behavioral problems and/or any mechanical problems.
* Operate assigned vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable traffic laws.
* Perform pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections.
* Clean, disinfect and fuel assigned vehicle. Care for and maintain the equipment and apparatus assigned to the vehicle.
* Report any deficiencies and/or damage to vehicles or other company property to Operation Supervisor/Customer Service Center.
* Report immediately to Operation Supervisor and/or Human Resources, in writing, any change in information provided to the company (i.e., team member’s driving record status, certification status, physical/health status) that could affect the individual’s ability to effectively, safely, and legally perform the duties of the position.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
* Driver’s license with approved driving record and no more than 2 points
* Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) For-Hire Driver’s License (will help obtain)
* Ability to pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and pre-employment behavioral interview
* Ability to efficiently and effectively operate current technologies including, but not limited to, a computer, GPS unit, two-way radio, and tablet device
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization is available
* Ability to successfully complete company sponsored Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training within 90 days of hire
* Ability to communicate proficiently, in both written and oral form, in the English language
* Ability to pass a physical demand assessment which will mimic the essential functions of the job

*ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*

Ability to access interior of the ambulance (step of up to 16 inches) using OEM equipment unassisted

Periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and turning

Frequent movement in the back of the ambulance in tight conditions

Able to operate motor vehicle without restrictions

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

*Salary: $16.00 per hour*
