Job Description

The Commercial Delivery Driver reports directly to the Transportation Manager and has the responsibility to deliver products safely and accurately to customers. The individual must prepare and complete the appropriate paperwork for every workday.

Role and Responsibilities

On time arrival and prompt dispatch of delivery including pre-trip inspection, load check, and daily dispatch inspection
Learn and understand the appropriate invoicing and product return paperwork to accurately account for all products being delivered or returned.
Perform and document a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of every piece of equipment used on every work day.
The safe operation of a commercial vehicle following the guidelines set forth by the Department of Transportation and policies instituted by Palmer Food Services.
Accurate delivery of a wide range of products to various customers daily in a safe manner and in a way that is not detrimental to the integrity of the product.
Delivery of products using a commercial vehicle, handcart, ramp, and any other piece of equipment used in prompt, safe deliveries
Communicate with transportation department personnel using cell phones. ($25 monthly telephone allowance)
Recording of mileage and delivery time daily
Taking personal care of vehicle driven pertaining to cleanliness and maintenance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

A High School diploma or GED.
Clean CDL class A license.
1 year of delivery or customer service experience preferred.
Must have the ability to lift product weighing up to 100 lbs.
Required to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle and operate said vehicle in a safe manner.
Must be able to walk, bend, lift, and operate a handcart up and/or downstairs.

Salary Range: $28.00 /hour based on experience.
